Company Information
Western Engine and Transmission and Western Material Handling are divisions of Firkins Power Motive, Inc. The owners are the Firkins: Dennis, Ellen, and Clint. Along with Dean Rasmussen, the service manager, they have nearly 100 years of experience in forklifts, engines, and transmissions.
Western Engine and Transmission is a wholesale/retail facility that handles primarily the Auto Dynamics line of remanufactured engines built in Casper Wyoming. The engines, when installed by our shop or one of the ASA jobber shops that we sell to, have a 3 year/75,000 miles non-prorated parts and labor warranty good anywhere in the nation! We stock the top selling engines and the rest are available as quickly as the next day at no extra cost.
Western Engine and Transmission carries rebuilt and remanufactured transmissions from two of the top transmission builders in the country and they are available as quickly as the next day at no additional charge. The warranty is up to 3 year/75,000 miles non-prorated parts and labor warranty good anywhere in the lower 48 states when installed by our shop or one of the ASA jobber shops that we sell to. Of course, we also sell transfer cases and differentials.
New, used, and Japanese take-out engines and transmissions are also available for domestics and imports at great prices!
In addition to installing our quality-rebuilt engines and transmissions, our trained technicians are available to do general repair work including brakes, clutches, c-v joints, and more for your domestic or import car, or truck.
Western Material Handling was started almost 15 years ago because there wasn't anywhere in Northern Colorado to purchase a forklift and we needed one to move our engines! Since that time WMH has been serving the material handling needs of area businesses, construction, and ranching and we have sold hundreds of new and used forklifts and construction equipment.
We are the dealer for new TOVEL rough terrain forklifts, TAILIFT straight mast forklifts, DV8R 'very narrow aisle' forklifts, NAVIGATOR truck mounted forklifts, and BLUE GIANT and MULTITON walk behind electric and manual walkie-stackie and pallet jacks. We are also the dealer for DAEWOO skid-steers, KAMA compact tractors, and LOAD-N-LIFT trailers. We also stock around 50 good used forklifts from a few thousand dollars up and reconditioned forklifts that are about half the price of a new forklift.
We specialize in shop and field repairs in the Northern Colorado, Nebraska, and Southern Wyoming areas at very competitive rates and we work on most all types of equipment. We can also supply parts for most any make of equipment that you own. We offer low cost Planned Maintenance programs for your equipment and fleet vehicles plus we do Forklift Operator Training!
We also sell products for the warehouse including pallet jacks, shrink-wrap, plastic pallets, racking, rolling ladders, and many more items.
